7 nights including airport transfers, accommodation and meals from AUD $1289.00
An hour’s drive from Nadi Airport in the town of Ba (a sugar cane farming town), lies a facility that will tug at your heart strings. For the last 20 years, the Boys Home in Ba has housed boys of all ages and provided them a home, ensuring they receive a safe and secure upbringing surrounded with a lot of love and care. These boys have either been abandoned, found on the streets, neglected or have been seconded by social welfare for various reasons.
Anyone who has visited can tell you it’s not hard to see the difference it is making when these boys are put into school and cared for by the loving staff at the Boys Home, who teach the boys how to make a better life for themselves, with many of these boys having gone onto careers that would not have been possible without the Boys Home.
On the same facility lies a rehabilitation and vocational centre for boys and a small farm which assists in helping the boys sustain themselves, however, there is a lack of expertise and hands to help.
As a volunteer, you’ll receive Host Home accommodation and 3 main meals. You’ll be living with a Fijian family, enabling you to truly experience Fijian culture.
Can you help?Volunteers are needed in the following areas:
Care Givers and Honey Experts or people with some knowledge in honey farming and teachers with knowledge/skills in Welding and Fabrication, Carpentry/Joinery, Automotive Engineering, Agriculture (basic), Computer skills (basic).
All volunteers must be able to speak and write in English.

Not a teacher but always wanted to volunteer at a school?
Teacher Aide’s are in great need throughout Fijian schools. The classroom numbers are high at most times, reaching approximately 45 in a class. Asides from this, Fiji’s curriculum in the public schools, has recently moved to Class Based Assessments, which simply means a lot more projects are carried out in the classroom as opposed to an exam based curriculum. As you can imagine, with one teacher and over 40 students, this has created a lot of extra work! By volunteering as a Teacher’s Aide, you become an absolute asset to the class teacher, as well as the children, as you make a huge difference in their lives.
Tasks as a Teacher Aide are as basic as helping children to carry out instructions from their class teachers, watching over the class if the teacher is out and assisting with lunchtime duties in supervising the children. Should you have skills as a teacher there is opportunity to teach.
The majority of schools for our Teacher Aide volunteers are based on the outskirts of towns where help is required the most. Most of these big public schools house poor children, therefore, good education is what will give them an edge and this is the difference that you can help make as a volunteer.
Be challenged as a volunteer and experience the huge difference you will make when volunteering as a Teacher Aide.
Host Home accommodation and 3 main meals are provided and you will live with a local Fijian family, enabling you to truly experience Fijian culture.
Can you help?Volunteers are needed to work as Teacher Aides in kindergarten, primary, high school and vocational skills(mainly Kindergarten + Primary); Teacher Aides with teaching ability for Vocational schools in the areas such as Mechanical Engineering, Carpentry/Joinery, Agriculture (basic), etc. and sports subjects.
All Volunteers must be able to speak and write in English.

Nestled in the cane fields of Nadi, this humble home that caters to all women from all walks of life, whether they are married, single, widowed or separated from their husbands, offers a lifeline to women who are looking for hope in their unfortunate situations. The goal of the home is to cater to these women’s needs physically, mentally and spiritually. The programs that are in place for these women provide them with a lifeline so when they leave the home they do have skills to help them carry on with their lives depending on the situation they have come out of. The home provides these unfortunate women with shelter and love that they are not always privy to. The home opened in 2009 and is run by 2 Fijian women who have basically given their time and their finances towards the running of this home. It is a community driven project that assists women in the Western side of Viti Levu (the main island of Fiji).
If you are planning to volunteer here then this home is for women only due to the accommodation set up. You will live at the home in basic accommodation. If you have counseling skills this is a plus, otherwise, as always your big hearts to serve these very special women and their families is all we need.
*Home is a Christian ministry and visitors will be expected to respect all Christian activities and standards.
