The Protection of Children

Uplift Tours and Travel is committed to the safety and holistic wellbeing of all children and young people involved in our travel programmes. To ensure that children and young people are kept safe from harm, our staff and volunteers are required to possess a current blue card; agree to adhere to a code of conduct when working with children; and undergo training in child safety.

Uplift Tours and Travel takes child protection and safety seriously and consequently has policies and procedures in place to ensure that your child has the best possible experience with us.

A copy of our Child Protection policy will be made available upon request.

Managing Risk

Uplift Tours and Travel is committed to establishing an organisational philosophy and culture that ensures effective risk management is an integral part of all of our activities and the management of those activities. Risk management allows Uplift Tours and Travel to take advantage of opportunities to improve its outcomes and programmes by ensuring that any risk taken is based on informed decision- making and on realistic analysis of possible outcomes.

At Uplift Tours and Travel, risks are defined as the chance of anything happening that would impact upon the organisation’s ability to ensure safe, enjoyable outcomes for all of our clients.

This policy does not intend to eliminate risk completely, rather it sets a framework to manage effectively the risks involved in all of our activities, to maximise opportunities for enjoyable, educational and enriching programmes, to minimise adversity and to achieve improved client outcomes and organizational outputs based on informed decision-making. Effective risk management requires:

  • a strategic focus;
  • forward thinking and proactive approaches to management; and
  • balance between the cost of managing risks and the anticipated benefits and contingency planning in the event that mission critical threats are realised.
